Flower and Land started by Jessica Smith.
I have been surrounded by Flowers and Plants from a very young age. Gardening at my Grandpas knee in his Rose Garden, is where it all began, to working with my Father, a Horticulturist. After completing a Textile Design degree with a first, I soon acquired an Allotment. I used this to teach myself the basics of Gardening and growing cut flowers. Since then I have created a cutting garden from nothing, and I am currently carrying out my dream of a small-scale flower farm.
I currently work in a walled garden as a Kitchen Gardener, garden designer and Floral Designer.
I am forever bringing home the hedgerows with me on my travels and I strive to grow an abundance of unusual, seasonal, thoughtful and creative flowers and foliage from my land, in order to add an artful, wild, natural and curated look to my work and arrangements. I see the importance in working with nature to use seasonal flowers, bringing the British countryside and Landscapes into my work for everyone. I look at Floral design as works of art and paintings, using flowers as my paint palette.
